Rideshare Legal Framework in Queensland

Rideshare is known as Booked Hire in Queensland. The regulatory body is the Personalised Transport policy section of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR or DTMR). On the road, the laws and regulations are enforced by Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Transport Compliance officers. The law is defined by the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Act 1994.
